AFAIK the problem is with the number of pilots Ukraine can get trained for these F-16s. At the start, only 8 pilots had enough proficiency with English to even understand the training. No, being a good pilot on old Soviet era planes is NOT something that helps. In fact it gives many bad habits for western planes.
It's probably the journalists not knowing shit as they usually do.The oldest AMRAAM has a range of about 55 KM. Unless the US decided to send AIM-7Es, which would be hilarious - pilots going from the shitty soviet SARH missiles to shitty western SAHR missiles, then the range is most definitely incorrect 26..
I don't know where the 32 km range for the AMRAAM came from. It doesn't seem right at all. All variants of the AMRAAM have a much longer range than that, with the AIM-120D having an "official" range (according to Wikipedia) of close to 100 nautical miles. Its actual range is classified. According to the USAF, an F-15C using an AIM-120D scored the longest ever missile shot against a target drone. They didn't say how long the shot was, but it was probably over 100 miles.
-All this with four F-16s?
--slowly more. They can train ten pilots. A month come next spring and they can have 120 fighters in 6 squadrons. 1 for ant ship 3 for wild wwasl and 2 for air superiority..

одной эскадрильей, "a wing" !!!
